My favourite walks EVER!

Two days ago we drove north to Porongurup National Park to go on the Granite Skywalk at Castle Rock.  We went on a really hard walk up a mountainside for 4.4km. I didn’t think I would make it because it was so long and steep with lots of climbing.  I was glad I did make it because the skywalk was fantastic and there were great 360 degree views of the countryside and the Stirling Ranges.

There were large Red Tingle trees on the trail

Only halfway there!

The trail kept going!

The man in the photo was wearing thongs

I had to push this rock to the side so Nan and Pop could pass :)

STILL NOT THERE!

We did both views

It was really hard getting up and took a long time!  There were steel handles to pull yourself up with.

I was really happy I made it up the first hard bit

The next tricky bit but I was small enough to crawl under the rock and not have to go over it.

STILL NOT THERE BUT I ONLY HAD TO CLIMB THIS LADDER

WHAT A VIEW!  It was really cold and windy up there but we all loved it!

Afterwards we drove up a really steep road to a lookout of Bluff Knoll which is Western Australia’s highest mountain.
Bluff Knoll 1099 metres

We didn’t go on the walk trail because I was so tired and sore from our other walk.

Bluff Knoll was very majestic!
Yesterday we travelled north to Hyden to see Wave Rock. I should have brought my surfboard :)
On our way I took this photo of a grain train at Lake Grace.  When we had to stop at a rail crossing the same train passed us.  We both bipped a toot toot to each other.  It was funny!
We stopped at this roadside van to have corn. The man was really funny!

On the way to Wave Rock we went walking on The Breakers trail.  The Breakers were a small version of Wave Rock.  It was really cool!

The Breakers
The trail went up a steep rock face and on the rock we saw three Ornate Dragons.  One dragon was bobbing his head up and down and puffing out his chest.  He was really pretty with light yellow and black stripes and patterns.
An Ornate Dragon that my Aunty Del is going to love!
On the trail we also saw the dam that supplies water to the town of Hyden.  There were also heaps of funny shaped boulders.

Wave Rock was fantastic!  It was huge and really hard to climb up Wave Rock and I kept slipping down because of the sloping angle of the rock.  It had beautiful stripes of different colours.  I think it would be really cool to surf it if it was water!

On the top of Wave Rock there were rock pools with tadpoles and other creatures in them

A very strange wildflower growing on the rock

After seeing Wave Rock we went to the Hippo’s Yawn which was a huge boulder that looked like a hippo with its mouth wide open.  I had a great time looking at these great rock formations!

As we were travelling along the road south of Hyden I saw a mother emu and her three babies on the side of the road.  They started to run and were faster than our motorhome!
We are now on our way south east to Esperance.  On our way we are going to a wildflower show at Ravensthorpe.
I will blog again soon.
